Chelmsford YMCA is a Christian Family Centre serving the needs of the community, specialising in the development and delivery of Childcare and Youth Work.

Chelmsford YMCA is a busy, purposeful and fun place to be, working towards a community characterised by inclusiveness, diversity and mutual respect. We offer programmes and services that value and respect people for who they are, seeking to build on their positive qualities and assets, giving equal opportunities and challenging each person on body, mind and spirit. The YMCAs mission is a Christian one, affirming the unique value of everyone, and Christian hope sees promise in every individual for growth, change and new life.

What we do?
Children's Services (0-12 years)
We deliver high quality, affordable, OfSTED inspected childcare across Chelmsford. This includes:
Full day care Nursery open 7.30 a.m.-6.00 p.m. 51 weeks a year
Out of Schools Clubs (Breakfast and After School) collecting 4-12 year olds from 12 schools.
Holiday Clubs open 7.30 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. during school holidays.
Children's Centres- one stop shops for parents with children under 5.
Youth Services (9-19 years).
We offer community youth groups across Chelmsford for young people aged 9-19. These run on various days and times with programmes including sport, crafts, personal development and much more.
Our Youth Training team offers life skills training for 14-25 year olds, which young people can use to help them make decisions about their future.
The Peer Support Programme works in schools around Chelmsford, teaching children and young people how to support and encourage each other in a variety of ways.
Our Family Support team aims to empower families with children who have emotional/behavioural difficulties so that they have the appropriate skills to enable full participation in the social and educational opportunities available to them.
