Aims/Objectives:
Christian Youth Outreach helps young people to live healthier, more spiritual lives and to explore Christianity for themselves through a variety of projects around Colchester working with the community, with secondary schools and with local churches.
Age Range: 11-19

Activities:
CYO works with schools in the Colchester area providing trained visitors to support the RE and PSHE curriculum, assembly programmes and SMSC development. We also assist with one-to one mentoring. We have developed "Sanctum", an interactive installation that allows young people to explore their own sense of spirituality in an absorbing and unpressured way. Sanctum has been run in local schools and is adaptable to other youth work settings.
Outside school we run social and training events for young people and church youth leaders. We also oversee a sports outreach project called Xtra Time.
CYO is committed to the development of new leaders and runs a gap year programme for young adults from local churches who are exploring the possibility of further youth work training.
