Aims/Objectives:
The Harlow Foyer helps disadvantaged young people of the town, aged 16 -24, who are homeless or in housing need, achieve the transition from dependence to independence.

Accommodation and support for 116 resident service users.
A young parent's support service is provided for 10 residents.
Residents must engage in a personalised support programme, including employment and training activities, as agreed in a Personal Development Plan.
On-site support around mental health needs, substance misuses and offending are available for residents.
A life skills programme is available for residents and non residents and this covers the key areas of development for the client group, including budgeting, health, motivation, employability, diversity, 'you and the law', and effective communication. Specific young parent oriented life skills are also provided.

The foyer provides arts programmes, work placements and other employability opportunities, and basic skills support as funding permits.
Harlow Foyer delivers the Learning Power Award programme in partnership with Braintree College. This is a City and Guilds accredited qualification which concentrates on personal development and the skills needed to live independently. This is open on a cyclical basis (according to the academic year) for residents and non residents. Occasio House also houses the Harlow One Stop Shop. This is an advice centre for young people that include services provided by Connexions, Harlow Council, Harlow Welfare Rights and Advice, Young Concern Trust, Essex Youth Service and West Essex Primary Care Trust. The provision includes a health suite which operates a drop-in nurse consultation service for young people.
