Aims & Objectives:
Hadleigh Training Centre aims to provide a training programme, which will aid clients with special needs to enhance their personal development and maximise their potential to enter mainstream education, training and/or employment.
Age Range: 16 to 60
However in conjunction with several local schools we are working with children under the age of 16 by offering work placements to students who, for whatever reason, may find it difficult to be part of the mainstream work experience programme. A daily charge is made to the school for each student taking part in this programme.
Special Interests:
Hadleigh Training Centre operates 8 different vocational training departments through which clients gain a variety of vocational skills.
These departments consist of:-
Carpentry, Catering, Retail, IT & Graphic Design, Rare Breed Animal Care, Horticulture, IT & Office Practice and Estates Management. Working alongside each of these training departments are Employment Development Officers who assist clients in their personal development and job search. Clients can be referred for a placement via Social Service, through the JobCentre Plus Disability Employment Advisors or through direct contact should a client wish to purchase a place privately.
Training is available Monday to Friday with a daily charge of £55.00 or a half day rate of £30.00 which is reviewed annually in April.
We also have a Carers Support and Development Officer who's role is one of providing information and support to carers; provide and facilitate quality time-out via activities/social events, allowing respite from the caring role; offer career development help, training and skills development; provide direction and guidance on benefits and other services available to carers. The carers are not only those related to clients attending Hadleigh Training Centre but to anyone who is classed as a carer.
Other Relevant Information:
As part of our training facilities, we operate a Tea-Room in which clients learn customer service and retail skills. This facility is open 7 days a week and overlooks Hadleigh Castle Country Park and the Thames Estuary.
