The Communities and Local Government department has launched a new website where charities and community groups can ask for help in overcoming bureaucratic obstacles to their work. Barrier Busting lets people setting up or running local community projects submit queries about regulations, such as by-laws or health and safety rules, that hinder them in their work. A team of civil servants at the department will be responsible for helping the groups overcome the problems.

A new website 'by young people; for young people'
The Children's Society has launched a new website called The Kid's Zone developed and designed by a group of children aged between 10 and 14 years. It includes space for young people to upload artwork, photos and videos. Its 'fun and games' section contains not just games but popular quizzes and polls. Providing opportunities for children and young people, or kids, to share opinions and ideas.

The government has launched a new website aimed at helping charities and small businesses to find public sector contracting opportunities.  The site, called Contracts Finder, will list all such opportunities worth more than £10,000.  Organisations can register on the free site to specifiy what sort of contracts they are interested in and receive emails about them.  http://contractsfinder.businesslink.gov.uk
